UF is a GREAT university for Engineering. The engineering program is excellent and most of my professors had open-doors and open-arms. Not to mention the Gator Nation itself is incredible. The alumni and student base of the school show massive amounts of pride for their alma matter. There is no where you can go where you can't find a fellow Gator working next to you! :)
