As a Christian School:

Bob Jones is a great place for those wanting to be told by someone else how to live and feel good about being Christian. Very works based, and Roman Catholic. Dispensational view of the Bible creates a fatalistic mindset. They to often distinguish between secular things and sacred things and label most contemporary Christian groups as sinful or liberal, with little or no explanation. The are isolationist, with no idea how to integrate true Christianity into everyday life

Graduates: I have spoken to over ten graduates from the school that I was not in school with. 100% of them stated that they learned how to be a real Christian after graduating from the school. This is a serious problem. Many of the graduates do not know how to think for themselves. They regurgitate the “narrow lifestyle and cultured Christianity the school is now notorious for.

BJ people: The folks that work there are generally nice, but many of the faculty and staff, with several acceptations, are judgmental, condescending and not friendly. This school is full of people who possess biased, non-objective, biblical discernment as well.

Students: Students are not taught a practical world view; they are taught a system of religious values that are in essence, opinions. Students are not taught how to think, though they think they are. They are being told what to believe, what to live and if the disagree they are labeled. Students are friendly to visitors, but many in the dorm are arrogant, spoiled and conceited, too concerned about fashion, style and fitting in. This of course is no different than many large non-Christian schools.

The Hype: They hype themselves as being the opportunity place, and I must confess, the push to be a Christian and live “for God” is huge their. This place is producing many people who do not know how to study or interpret their bible. They produce a student that may be moral and honest, a hard worker, but many of those kids were like this prior to coming to BJ. Bob Jones takes credit for many things that are given it by its highly educated, upper middle class student body.

A Worthless Degree: Overall, the fact that they have just recently become a candidate for accreditation is a testament to the close minded nature of the older leadership of the school. If you are going into business and graduated prior a few years ago, your degree is worthless for graduate school, or any other career move that requires an accredited.

Final Word: For Christians, there are other places to study Christian ideals and thought. For all others, this school will foster a frustration if you are a non-conformist.
