Yet they complain about the lack of straight guys?!?!?!? Bullshit. Theres more than your fair share of straight guys (like me), but we get overlooked because girls tend to flock around a few hot guys, leaving us regular guys with NOTHING. The party scene revolves mostly around clubbing and barhopping. **I can't stress that more, if you're not into the whole clubbing scene…be ready to become fiercely independent; there'll be many a night spend alone in your room (which is fine with me, because I never was dependent on people coming into NYU, but for weak-willed kids, it might be frustrating)** I was disappointed in the lack of thedude-lets-chill-with-a-couple-of-friends-and-smoke-pot-and-get-food-at-3AMThe only redeeming qualities of NYU are its dorms and city location. EVERYONE has a private bathroom, and most students live in luxurious dorms, which are de facto apartments in the most expensive part of Manhattan! And yes, the city location can't be beat: plenty of jobs/internships; if you know what you're going to do in life, by all means attend NYU; opportunities abound. And like in any major city, there's tons of stuff for you to do thats not NYU related: concerts, restaurants, sightseeing, etc. With all that said, the greatest piece of advice I give is be sure you fit these two characteristics: ABSOLUTELY love NYC and KNOW what you're going to do in life. Independence is a must at NYU. Period. |
