I spent one year at PCC and to this day I have regretted it. Before I applied there though, I went to an EXCELENT Christian School in Georgia (Note: NOT Pensacola, Florida) that had a great spirit, classmates that felt like family, a friendly atmosphere, and had faculty and staff that I knew in my heart of hearts loved me and my classmates. I went to this Christian School since the sixth grade untill I graduated and I love that school. I expected PCC to provide close to the same experience as I had at my old wonderful high school.

I applied to PCC was accepted and then realized after a week there that the Christianity at my High School and PCC’s “Christianity” operated on a different frequency - a frequency that can crush you and your especially your trust in the Body of Christ. PCC considers that the four years you spend at their college is their last chance to mold the “child” before they grow up and that they must also fill the role of parents to these “children”. They do this by trying to “legislate” morality and anyone who does not meet up to their standards is not right with God and must repent or they must be expunged from the system before they infect the rest of the “spiritually healthy” flock. Their motto should be

Legalism before Grace
or “The Law over Mercy” because I saw neither grace nor mercy bestowed on people who broke their rules. Friends I knew were shadowed (followed by the administration to make sure they did not talk to anyone before expulsion) and were whisked away before I could even say goodbye to them. This spirit of cold and condescending hatred for rule-breakers by the administration made me depressed and crushed down my spirit. This clearly was not like my old Christian School I grew up with and the differences did not stop here.

The spiritual leaders of this place, the pastor, the deacons, chapel preachers, Sunday school leaders - people who should be above the influence of such Legalistic vices - follow, reinforce and even feed off of the practices of the administration. They tear down other Christian organizations in chapel and condemn people deemed “spiritually inferior” to them in church. This proactive movement among the leadership to hunt down and burn people who have views other than theirs is a pervasive and intrinsic aspect of their ideology. But I think the worst aspect of this school is when they try to brainwash the student body to become like them - cold, hard, and inflexible in their self-righteous legalism.

I could only stand one year at PCC and it has left its indelible mark upon me. Afterwards I hated the Church and if some self-righteous legalist had tried to tell me I was taking it badly I think I would probably have beat the snot out of them. THIS PLACE MADE ME NOT WANT TO GO TO CHURCH - EVER - AGAIN! Thankfully I have some wonderful friends from that same Christian School in Georgia and I got over it. Don’t allow this feeling of bitterness towards other Christians gain a foothold in you and fester. I implore you to consider what I have said and not go to PCC.
