I think time is the best judge for the quality of one's education. I can honestly say after working with engineers from all over the country I realized how good my education was. I passed the PE exam first time as well as four of my friends I went to school with. I don't even work in public consulting. Tech did an awesome job teaching the theory of why things work and prepared you for graduate school or going to work for Nissan. I have gotten 7 patents and designed products for over 9 years using my Tech education. It is not a fun party school, but if your have some maturity and want to make some money and have a great career it is well worth a look. I had several friends who went on to get masters and PHds from Georgia Tech, Carnegie Mellon, and University Illonis Champagne and all commented that Tech did a great job preparing them. I can't say if the quality of education is their only secret. They did a great job of weeding out people who shouldn't be in the field and devaluing the universities reputation. |
