I was able to grow and mature in my spiritual life. When I first started attending, I had a major attitude problem, and that really hindered my spiritual growth. I tried to skirt the rules and I got away with a good bit that many people to this day wouldn't even guess. After dating (and breaking up with) a total moron who wanted to open a Christian pool hall, the Lord finally got a hold of my heart. I was able to work in one of the camp ministries associated with the college during the summer, and the Lord really used that. Throughout the four years that I attended, I went from a totally rebelious student to one who excelled. All I had to do was surrender to the will of God in my life. PCC was where God wanted me, and when I fought that, I was miserable. PCC is not God's will for everybody. There are many people who attend PCC and leave after a horrible experience and tell everyone they know not to go to PCC because of their horrible experience. The only problem with their thinking is that they weren't seeking the Lord's will. If they had, then they probably wouldn't have ended up at PCC and wouldn't have had a bad experience. Then there are others who go to PCC following the Lord's will and lose sight of what He can do in their lives. Sure there are rules, but everywhere you go, there are going to be rules that you don't like. If you depend on the Lord for your strength, and keep your eye on the goal, He will help you overcome everything. |
