I never imagined all the experiences that I would face. I first visited PCC during a summer nursing camp in 2005. At this camp, I was challenged daily in God's holy and infallible Word and met many faculty and church members that were so kind and helpful. By the end of the week, I didn't want to leave. When I arrived back home, I immediately applied for PCC. I thought that I would major in Nursing and even though I knew that my classes would be tough, I knew with God's help that I could do all things through Christ which strengthens me. I also knew that God had something great in store for me. After my application was approved, I received a letter in the mail stating that I could go down for the summer and work on campus. They said that I would receive free room and board, get paid $8 an hour, work 40 hours a week, and meet so many new people. I was not too thrilled with this idea, but after seeking counsel, from my parents and my pastor, I decided that this is what God had in plan for me. Looking back a year later, I realize what a great thing God did in the past year. Some of the blessings that I received were the following: more friends that I could ever imagine, great teachers who actually care about you, awesome roommates that encouraged and challenged me spiritually, Chapel messages that spoke directly to me, and was fed every Sunday and Wednesday by Pastor Neil Jackson. Even though I am an accounting major now, I never thought that God would so greatly bless me in my time at PCC. I am planning on working again this summer and eventually graduation in May of 2010. |
