I still miss the dramas and the speeches. They did an excellent job teaching public speaking and I loved my two speaking classes. As for the rules, I was there for 3 semesters and only got 2 demerits, so I was able to abide by them fine, but I found them quite ridiculous.I felt like the university tried to take the place of your parents and family which I found totally unbiblical. They had rules about what you could and couldn't do when you were on break. I'm sorry, but that is none of there business. That is between me and my parents. Academically, I was not challenged. Granted, I have a rather high IQ, but most of the classes were just rote memorization, spitting back facts and ideas that the teacher thinks is right. I do not consider this to be true learning. You heard sermons at least 2-3 times a week about making sure you were saved, checking your salvation. Do you listen to CCM? Or Heaven forbid Rock, Country etc. You are probably not saved. You need to repent and get saved. If you are not incredibly secure in your beliefs, this really caused problems and doubts.Overall, while I was there, I had some good times, but when I was home on break, the thought of going back made me literally sick to my stomach.I would not recommend this university unless you either agree with their doctrine and rules almost completely, or you are extremely strong in your walk with the Lord and who you are as a person. |
