Expect to have a great first two years, then run into significant problems when you reach upper division courses; closed classes with little notice, lack of prerequisite courses for professional/grad school, and lack of job prospects are to be expected. You will probably end up paying, on top of your tuition, for some of the courses you need. Be especially wary of less popular majors, the school will pledge to help and leave you hanging later on. Make sure the classes you need will be available, and get it in writing! Ask about alumni in the specific field you are interested in. Also, unless you are a basketball player expect sub par housing and incompetent housing staff. If you are a basketball player, have no fear, your back will be covered. I will say that the financial aid department is fantastic, and will surpass any expectations you may have. |
