I am a senior now, and will soon graduate. Rutgers is a very big school. There is a lot of diversity, both in students and faculty, and this is a good thing. All professors hold office hours in case you need extra help, or want to further discuss course materials, which can really help. There are lots of student organizations and actiities to get involved in, and there's a lot to do in New Brunswick too. However, you have to be responsible. There's no handholding here. Advisors are approachable and will always help you, but nobody is going to force you to go and see them. You have to be responsible to know deadlines and major requirments. Some of the departments are quite large, and you have to go through some red tape to get something done. But then again, large departments mean more facutly diversity, and more opportunities for research. |
