Definitely compare your tuition cost to the amount spent by the university on each student per year at www.collegeresults.org (UCLA spent $10,000 more than Cal per student, but their tuition was lower for example). During the years I attended, freshmen lost an average of 10 lbs as opposed to the "freshman 15" that kids gain at other places. I'd attribute this phenomenon to bad dorm food. This is not a good place to explore and "find yourself". It works best for those who know exactly what they want and plan to minimize the amount of time required to get it. If you're not in here to get an engineering or business degree, I'd seriously examine whether the major you want to pursue is worth it. |
