While the campus does not offer all of the resources found at larger institutions, plenty of opportunities that offer challenging experience in many fields of academia are available for those students with the initiative to find them. As a biology major bound for graduate school in the field of neuropharmacology, I can say FMU has satisfied me in regards to quality education, however, the quality is largely dictated by the personal choices of the student (i.e. selecting challenging professors, taking on research projects, etc.) Many of the faculty (from my exp. in the bio dept.) represent teachers who have given up higher salaries at large universities and industry in an effort to bring new educational opportunities such as research laboratories and medical internships to an area found to be lacking such facilities. |
