I hope not to sound too melodramatic, but this place has been nothing but an nightmare; the repercussions of having chosen this school will probably affect me for years to come. Prospective students, please be warned that you may get caught in the bureaucratic nonsense of this university's administration. As a former attendee of Fordham Lincoln Center I can speak only for that campus, but I believe that Fordham's administration as a whole is majorly flawed. I've been charged with $4,500 in dormitory fees & threatened with a collection agency when I've never even lived on campus (still unresolved), and once rudely told thatthere are kids in New Orleans who have nowhere to go to school, when I first applied and called to check on the status of my application in fall '05.At any point I've had a problem - I've been forced to make repeated phone calls, usually made to deal with a very curt & impolite individual on the other end, assured that my problem would be "taken care of," only to discover some days later that, of course, nothing had been done.. starting the cycle over again. At the start of one term, following one year of attendance and solid grades, I was forced to withdraw due to a medical condition. The deans and their secretaries ignored my repeated pleas to speak with them - for the entire semester - until my parents became involved in the matter, at which point it was too late to withdraw from courses and I was given all F's. Coursework wise, I have nothing negative to say. I've had both brilliantly helpful professors and brilliantly incompetent professors, and every sort in between.Fordham is not worth its price tag. I have met students there who have coasted through the 4 years at Lincoln Center and loved it, but I have simply had too bad of an experience to endorse it. If you are ever to encounter a problem during your college career, you need a university that will support you, not further complicate your life. |
