My major course work was fantastic and the professors were superb, helpful teachers. I completed a good deal of undergraduate research and got good letters of rec for grad school. Research opportunities are abundant, but not all of them are positive experiences. Drama and unprofessional attitudes were revealed by a catty staff and faculty, in a department rife with hatred. Look out! The politics will get you! Like anywhere you need to work to be noticed. Chemistry, math and physics classes are required, of course, and all of them contain hundreds of students and a few clueless, foreign TA's. You will struggle through these subjects unless you are already a master at them prior to taking them. Its a nightmare. The dorms were horrible. Overpriced, full of over tanned girls with pink colored shades and white lip gloss and a bunch of racist, meat-head hicks that chant "Go Bucks" at every opportunity. If you don't love country everything and football isn't your life, don't attend. Most of the people you meet will drop out or change their majors to something easier. Columbus is nice enough, but the buses stop running early if you want to escape campus. Good Luck! |
