The department is large enough to offer lots of hands-on-work, but small enough that you can work on as many shows as you want—even from freshman year. If I had applied myself to my studies, I would have gotten a lot more out of the education. Humboldt prepared me for entry-level work in technical theatre. I then moved onto teaching and directing, which was a bigger learning curve. I had to do a lot of catch-up in the areas I wasn't too interested in during college. Were I to do it all over again, I'd go to Humboldt and I'd apply myself. |
