I'm no frat guy but i am still very active and have a social life. While greek life is very big at OU there are many other ways to be active at OU. There are many clubs, sports and councils to participate in. Being an Out-of-stater, i know how expensive college can be, but i feel the price for OU is well worth the experience i have been given. Compare OU to other schools and i'm sure you will see it has a very equivalent price for what you get.The Journalism college at OU is top teer. I'm a broadcast major and the equipment we have and use is unbelievably advanced and everyday i feel as though i'm closer towards my future career goals. To add to the already impressive features of Gaylord College, the college is doubling in size to even better facilitate the other areas of journalism. Most people who think there isn't anything to do in Norman are those spoilled kids from Houston or some equally massive city. Personally i haven't found anything that i need that is not available in Norman and even if i need a bit more, OKC is only a 20 minute drive down I-35. One person wrote about the OU side of norman looking white trash as far as houses go. yeah they aren't the nicest but thats because they are mostly owned by students. Trust me, it's not bad.If you are thinking about OU, I encourage you to come visit the campus. There are plenty of things to do here. If you find yourself upset because you have no social life it's probably not the fault of the university. |
