While classes at STMU sometimes don't cover cutting edge stuff, you do get a good understanding of the underlying principles. If you're an engineering major, USE THE MACHINE SHOP! How many mechanical engineers get out of college knowing how to machine what they design? Huge advantage when looking for a job. Definitely make friends with the lab managers and lab assistants, 24/7 access to lab equipment makes life a lot easier (and a lot more interesting if you like to tinker, and if you don't why are you in an engineering program?)Yes, the bell tower was a boondoggle. We planned to use it to launch UAVs but there's no access to the top unfortunately.Campus police generally mean well, but they're simple.Use the fact that the engineering department is small to your advantage: professors are generally very accessible. |
