Do not attend this school. College is supposed to be a place of higher education, and Alfred State College is not that place. Despite the fact that it's in the middle of no where, with nothing to do, and no where to go, except eat (really bad food) and drink, the school has probably the most out dated utilities of any campus. Being a college of technology you would figure Alfred state would have the latest and greatest or at the very least competent faculty and staff, although this is not the case. The power goes out on campus on average 3 times a year, only the Alfred state campus, not Alfred University the neighboring campus. Water mains burst almost once a month stopping all flow of water, one time having to send students home 2 days early on spring break. The internet access and cable is absolutely terrible and works intermitedly. Financially Alfred state will try to squeeze every penny out of you and rob you in any way possible, evening taking away a scholarship from you for no logic reasoning and not compensating you in anyway. 90 percent of the professors are self absorbed and arrogant, the other 10 percent cancel class constantly. A quick note about the students on campus, a lot of them are racist and come from small hick towns and have absolutely no care for other cultures. The dinning hall on campus puts laxative in the food so incase there's any sort of poisoning it goes through your system quickly and they can't be sued. Then again you sign a contract with Alfred State explaining for example that if you slip and fall on the ice covered sidewalk or stairs that never get tended to and go to the hospital they are not responsible. Basically Alfred State college is one of the worst colleges in the United States in my opinion. As the their slogan goes "Hit the ground running" although I don't think they quite finished the saying, it should more like "Hit the ground running from ALFRED STATE!!!!"
