Overall, I found this place was not for me. As an out of state student, I feel out of place and I feel my northeast snobbery and arogance surfacing. Michigan, as a state, is utterly boring, generic, and awful. The students here are generic in every sense of the word. For such a large institution, I was disappointed in the diversity, in terms of more than just skin color. I work so hard to find compelling conversations and I am constantly disappointed in the apathy of the student body. No one is here to learn, they are here to drink, to act like idiots and not remember anything they do. Fraternities are disgusting. The floors are sticky, the guys are sleazy and skeezy and not cute, and the girls are slutty. If you don't drink or don't like the mentality of "I need to be drunk to have fun" don't come here. If you crave interesting conversations or interesting interactions beyond the drunken stumbling ones, don't come here. If you are not from michigan or if you are looking to be challeneged, don't come here. You will end up disappointed, falling asleep in your intro lectures, and lost in a sea of generic faces.
