Well, I think you should be prepared before you go to college by contacting someone at that school and staying in touch with them, like a mentor. When I went to college I was not prepared because my high school sucked, but I was an honor student. I didn't know how to write a good paper to save my life until after English Comp II.

As far as preparing for your major goes, I took accounting classes before I left high school so I was a little bit prepared. I ended up severly depressed in college because I wasn't prepared emotionally and educationally. Please make sure you visit the school of your choice a few times before you attend. I loved FSU and I would go back if I could to do my Master's. I made friends there and I didn't party at all the whole time I was there. The curriculum in business is tough so you have to stay focused or you will not pass the classes.

Also, get used to working in groups before you leave high school. I was not used to working in groups even though we did have those moments in high school where it was required. Groups help in understanding the material and studying for test.

I do highly recommmend FSU if you have a good head on your shoulders already and not prone to peer pressure. If you are gullible, you may not survive.
