I started my studies in computer engineering and have been impressed with the faculty and the curricula. Starting in Spring of 2009 we will be moving the program into the new Volgenau building which is in the last half of its construction phase. Mason is a young university but has quickly developed its engineering and SITE programs to one of the best in the state. The School of Information Technology and Engineering provides excellent resources for study and research including brand new and state of the art computer labs, high end comupting machines, and large amounts of easily accessible research material. I also like how the dean for SITE maintains regular contact with all the program's students to ensure everyone is receiving the support they need as they complete their degree. In addition, Mason also is near alot of high tech companies in Northern Virginia who have a relationship with the University that results in numerous opportunities for internships and co-op. The campus is quite pretty although it is going through a lot of construction. However, this construction is bringing in a large amount of new campus housing, academic buildings, dining options, and facilities for student recreation. I spend a lot of my time at the indoor swimming facility and gym. |
