CofO has a lot of potential; however, the they need to replace the administrators with ones that care about the school and students and not building North Korean of the ozarks. Goodwill that the school does have is attributable to former administrators. Unfortunately, the current admin. has tarnished that image. I don't know a single alum that would give a dime to CofO and as far as donors, they made their decision to give back when Graham Clark was the president. If you care to check that out, look at their 990's (federal tax form for non-profits). CofO used to receive 20-25 million per year, however, their last few 990's have been under 10 million. As far as admission into CofO, well, it doesn't have anything to do with the ACT or grades. Decisions are made on income because CofO gets the 10 grand from fed and state grants, plus the students work on campus. Most could attend a state school for free on their pell and state grants. If those students wanted to work 15 hours a week at a real job, not weaving baskets or making fruitcakes, that income would be spending money. |
