I have been given no or reluctant help from my academic advisor, my professors have straight up told our huge classes that we are a number and that they will not get to know you, and any kind of "community activity" the university tries to set up is so large and impersonal that you feel like an ant. I'm surrounded by people who have extremist liberal views and everything I learn is biased towards that. For me, UMass is not the right school, but for other people it is fine. I would say before you decide to go here, definitely think about what kind of person you are. If you like little interaction with faculty and administration, if you are willing to walk 20 minutes to class or to a party, if you hate schools setting up activities for you then definitely look into it. Visit a lot, stay over, picture how you would spend your days. |
