My undergraduate work was quite relevant, but I didn't discover how on point much of it was until years after the fact. VCU is not your traditional college. If you are going to school looking for a party atmosphere revolving around football games, you will be seriously disappointed. VCU football is undefeated only because they have never had a football team.Other than the football scene, it has something for everyone. But, sometimes you really have to work to find that particular "something" that suits you.Keep in mind - it is a school in an urban environment. That means you may have to deal with typical urban hazards (homeless, car break-ins, muggings). You're in college people - think a little bit about where you are and you can avoid most of these hazards. Most of the faculty are really good, and (mostly) accessible. There are exceptions. If you have an uncommon major you may need to wait for a while (like 2 years) if you want/need a certain class, but if you make your needs known you chances improve greatly. |
