Oh where to begin. First off GMU has its pros and cons like every other school on one hand its a great place to get an education on the other it LACKS a social life in general.

To say the least most of the teaching faculty here on campus ARE helpful (of course there will always be some bad apples, but that's common for every university). They actually care for their students' success and go out of their way to help them with their work, which in turn helps them in the long run. I actually found myself going to visit my professors on a regular basis during my first semester here on campus, and the professors WERE a big help to my coursework even the ones students generally mispercieve as being "harsh" or "mean-spirited" just from their looks and in class attitude.

GMU has an above average campus that is beautiful in its own right, but I feel that most of the time it gets bogged down by the people coming and going to and from campus, most of them too busy to make friends or even greet you with a simple and friendly "Hello". Social Life in general is DEAD down here like I mentioned earlier so if you want that classic college experience along with challenging schoolwork you will only find one of the two here as the University Police are usually more obsessed with bullying around college students just to get them in trouble.

Overall GMU is a fine academic institution if you want to get an education and not get the full college experience. But if you're an outgoing person who wants to get the full college experience along with the academics look somewhere else pure and simple. This is the cold, hard truth about GMU, great for academics lacking in the FULL college experience. For me I'll be staying for abit longer but after that I will be transferring to UVA.
