The departments, with the possible exception of missions, have respectable teachers that give good advice. Older preaching majors will likely find themselves pushed to the side with the overwhelming amount of future "youth pastors" coming out of high school. Missions majors can expect to be pressured towards Asian fields. Counseling majors will have excellent mentors it their department leads. Many negative reviews likely come from those not expecting the doctrinal bent of the school. Make no mistake, this is a restoration movement school. If you can't stand restoration movement doctrine, don't bother coming here. Environment (more students than professors) is particularly hostile towards Calvinists and charismatics. The price of Central is excellent compared to other similar schools, though student service and facility use fees seem inflated when compared with their descriptions. In short—it is easy to graduate from Central debt free with either Pell grants or a part time job. Accreditation is good—accepted by most Seminaries in the US. |
