Statistical Analyzer:

I am from North Carolina, and I chose W&M over UNC-CH. W&M has excellent academics, with profs who, in my experience, have been helpful and engaging. The work is extremely difficult, and there are NO EASY COURSES here. That, said, if you do your work and study hard, and also participate a little in classes, you should be fine.

Many students here are very involved in clubs, organizations, sports, etc. which is refreshing, given our generation's stigma of being complacent.

The social scene is hit-or-miss, depending on who you are. For instance, I have friends who party 4-5 nights a week and still make acceptable grades, and I have friends who party maybe 1 night a week. (I go out about 2-3 nights a week.) The social life here is what you make of it, and it mostly depends on how much weight you place on your studies.

Overall, W&M is an excellent school with many opportunities, both academic and extracurricular. Life here is what you make of it, as it is at any college. My favorite parts are the great professors/academics, the generally down-to-earth people here, the clubs, and the positive spirit of the place.
