Like other private schools, Wash U is astronomically expensive. If you are interested in pursuing medical school, I would seriously reconsider going to another school that is less expensive and less rigorous so that you can get top grades. Here, unless you are gifted, you will struggle most of the time. Averages on exams in the sciences (chem and physics in particular) are always around 50/100. There are also a lot of wealthy, spoiled kids from the East and West coast, so sometimes it can feel hard to fit in if you don't have the right clothes and socioeconomic background. Overall, I had a good experience, but wish I had gone to a public school instead. The degree seemed well respected in Washington, D.C., where I worked for a consulting firm. However, the Ivies and Duke were considered superior.
