Statistical Analyzer:

Most of my contact has been with TA's, they're never where they're supposed to be, they supervise the lab sections in place of the actual instructor, they tell you to do a good job, but don't have anything to offer in the ways of good instruction if you need it, how can you produce good results without proper training? When working in the lab that is what you need. Also, I paid my lab fees, I shouldn't have to re-use disposible lab items (cuvettes, pipets, etc.). As far as the lectures go, anyone can regurgitate the book, it takes true talent to lead class, and I just haven't seen it, anywhere. I don't need to have my time wasted listening about research when problem drilling is needed to be done. Based on my experiences in the last year 75% of the time the instructors rarely show up to class prepared for the days work, they are not engaging and at times were unable to answer questions. the worst part to me is that the university protects the instructors very well, "It is only recommended that the instructor provide a conducive learning environment, but not required…" among other things. I consider UT to be an antique university a little too steeped in tradition. To be honest there isn't anything you can get here you can't get at the public library.
