Since it is such a huge campus it may mean that you will need to take initiative in seeking out resources, academic help, career guidance, etc. But the great thing about its size is the number of opportunities, extracurricular activities, clubs, traditions, people, etc. There is something for every single student to get involved in something they feel passionate about, so get involved! Coming from a high quality college prep high school, most of the general education classes have been very easy but the upper level engineering classes have been very difficult. If you don't feel challenged enough, chose the honors route, which is comparable to the nation's top notch universities. Basically, there is a solution for any negative comment about OSU but it is up to the student to find his/her best fit and the resources to help them get past any disappointing aspects of the school. |
