I will be the first to admit that the administration is not very good and it can be frustrating but it is never more then a 20 minute inconvenience I really dont think I have spent more then an hour in the bursars office in the 3 years Ive been here. I have a big family and Pratt took hat in consideration when they gave me a generous aide package. If you are not dedicated to the program and dedicated to your art this is not the place for you. The professors are for the most part very good but you cant expect agree with anyone on something as subjective as art. The neighborhood is one of the safest in Brooklyn and anyone who feels uncomfortable here will probably never feel comfortable in any diverse urban environment which is not a shortcoming of the Institute (it is by no stretch of the imagination a “ghetto). Your education is entirely dependent on what you put into it, if your not devoted enough I imagine it would be a nightmare. If you put the work in and accept the criticism of the amazing faculty you will get a great education. |
