Ball State is a GREAT school. However, you have to give it a chance. As a freshman many students come in thinking they will automatically make friends, and be welcomed with open arms by the faculty…but it's not that way at all. You have to work at having both an academic and social life. Afterall, this is college, not high school.

Get involved on campus and within your department. BSU Faculty is ALWAYS very open to helping their students…well except for those few 'angry at life' professors…but every school has a few of those. Some of the classes, and coursework is a joke, but once you get deep into your major you will hopefully find it as challenging and fulfilling as I did. (I was a psychology major)

As far as a social life…well Muncie doesn't have much a "social scene" in fact-most of the time you have to make your own fun. On the other hand, BSU has one million opportunities to meet people, so don't just sit in your dorm room!!

My experience was amazing at Ball State and I wouldn't take back a minute of it. The coursework prepared me for graduate school and I felt like every penny of the mighty expensive tutition was well worth it!
