Overall, I would rank Fordham University a B. The academics are good, and the school has a great reputation that keeps growing every year, especially on the east coast. There are a lot of opportunities for internships and working on or around campus. However, the student body sucks. There are either very arrogant rich suburb kids, or loser religious kids who practice abstinence, there are few people in between. Most of the students are young republicans, and when Obama won there was a major disappointment as well as many racial comments. Pretty much everyone wears designer clothes and drives fancy cars and looks down on those who don't. The sports teams suck, and there is no school spirit. No one ever goes to sporting events because they would rather pre-game in their room before going out to 1 of the 4 bars around campus. Speaking of which, the RA's are very strict about alcohol in the rooms. They will listen against doors just as an excuse for a noise violation, and then right you up for alcohol possession. The punishments are ridiculous too if you get caught: alcohol meatings, alcohol and drug school, and so on. The night life is decent. There are 4 bars that everyone goes to, but pretty much there is 1 bar for each class, so it gets so crowded and you end up seeing the same people all the time. The house parties suck, and usually break up by 1. And as for extra activities, no one does them because it cuts into their social life. There are only like 5 club sports teams, and they suck. So all in all, the academic aspect of the school is great, but the social aspect sucks, mostly due to the snotty people. |
