If you are going to attend SCAD, make sure you have a lot of money. That is true with any university, however, when you start out at SCAD, you take different types of drawing classes, which force you to spend money on art supplies required for the course. Im a film major going into my second year and im taking drawing classes because, from what i understand, its required at SCAD. These art supplies range from $300 to $1500 per semester. So cant just go to Walmart and expect to find the supplies there. SCAD has a store that carries this unique range of supplies, and the store is located on campus. SCAD also makes you pay for laundry. At my last school laundry was free, but you had to bring your own detergent. $1 FOR DRYING and a $1 for washing. This may not sound expensive in the short run, but in the long run it is. Books at any campus are always expensive, but when you add art supplies and washing/ drying clothes, books become your last priority. Make sure you come SCAD with lots of extra money. |
