Statistical Analyzer:

Ever since I went to the orientation, I knew it would be a painful experience, and that I was going to regret the decision to attend Stony Brook University for the rest of my academic career here. Whether it's the absurdly overpriced food, or the preposterous number of international students (who don't hang out with the American students), the school has some serious flaws that the low price can't make up for.

The campus is completely vacant on weekends, except for a lot of the antisocial/asexual students. One particularly annoying student on my floor keeps walking into the room, where he starts yelling/blabbering like a retard, and consuming all the food in sight. He is more difficult to get rid of than herpes. It's gotten to the point where we have to lock the door when we sit in the room to prevent his entry.

The science/math departments are pretty good though. If you do absolutely nothing but study, it's not too bad of a place. It's cheap, and there's a lot of research going on. There isn't exactly an intellectual climate at the school (at all), but there are definitely smart students.

Still, don't come here from the south or something expecting a friendly, easygoing, and fun environment. It's nothing like that. Also, the humanities departments suck with the exception of a handful of faculty who are probably working their ass off to give the school a better standing in non-science departmental rankings.
