The school tries hard to involve students by planning lots of events on campus. It's the social side of UM that is beyond ridiculous. The student body is diverse, that's true, but it's not enough to overcome the fact that this place attracts some of the most obnoxious people on the planet. The majority of students here only care about image and partying and themselves. I think the proximity to South Beach is the cause for this. Most students come here to party hardy for 4 years. It is really hard to find substantial and loyal friends, most relationships are superficial and they would leave you stranded without a second thought. If you are nice, down to earth or a person of substance, you should look elsewhere. Don't waste your time and money here. |
