I do not want to hate on Eastern Michigan University(EMU), mostly because i have not/will not complete even one semester at this university. Some advice for high school students looking for a school and young adults as myself (20-21) who decided to take a few years off before going to school. Make sure you fully understand what school you are going to first, This school does not offer anything i'm interested in, that is partially my fault, but as well theirs. They agreed to everything i was interested in, like they offered majors that where helpful. I can say this is not an engineering school by any means now.

My problem is the PASS program, if you are eligible for this program and do not wanna feel like you are in high school DO NOT SIGN THE PAPER! You will be making an agreement you will not be able to uphold. If you like weekly meetings with a "PASS Coach" who happens to only be a few years older then you and a student themselves, and to have the limitations of failing one class and your done (and the $18,000 you just spent gone) then go for it. Their learning beyond the classroom requirements are bullshit, and if you don't do them, guess what; you fail the class, thus wasting $18,000, even if you had A's in all your classes.

I'm in a semi-decent dorm room. I say this because it was just remodeled two years ago, yet it looks like 6th graders painted, everything truly is still old. And you can't even ask for a light bulb when your bathroom one goes out(you have to put in work orders and wait till they have time).

Just so i'm not scaring anyone away from this school, it's just my opinion and shouldn't be taken just as what i'm typing, make sure you understand any school you are going to. After i arrived i realized i spent $18,000 for 12 credit hours, at my community college, i took more advanced classes and had 12 credit hours, the price was $1,200.

If your just looking to get out of the town you are in, and thus picking a university because of it, don't do it. If anyone has the option to go to a community college, take it. You'll be surprised how many people spend $80,000 on a college major and end up with a low paying job if any when they get out. at least take the first two years to save half of that, and stay ahead of the money game every school plays.
