I have to say do not worry about any of the bad comments posted on this website. Some are true but alot are false. UNO is a great college if you invest your time into it. From what I have experienced the classes are similar to most universities, the teachers are there to do there job and to help you understand the information. The teachers are very nice and seem to make sure they make themselves available to students as much as possible. The good things about UNO are that there are many activities and ways to get involved such as: intramural sports or playing on the club football team. The club football team has 65 players and is the vocal point of UNO athletics. There are also many other clubs that I am not really aware of. Then there are about 4 fraternities and 4 sororities that have about 20 members each. Also there are all types of division I sports for men and women to play and for students to attend. The on campus housing is terrific, there is a brand new dorm and apartment complex as well as a rec center to work out in on campus. The bad things about UNO are that most places on campus close very early such as the rec center closes at 8pm, and the buffet in the UC closes at 7pm. Also some of the buildings need maintenance, or are still being fixed from Hurricane Katrina. An example of this is the UC, the UC is the center of campus and it is not yet finished with construction, so the front entrance and second floor are closed. Before attending UNO a future student should know that UNO has a VERY diverse group of students and one should be open to all types of people. Also I would be committed to your studies, and try to find something to get involved in so that the college experience can be more fun. At UNO: fun won't find you, you must find it. |
