The class work load is very moderate, and no matter how well you did in highschool w/o even opening the book once, you'll have to study at least some for the tests here. My biggest lesson was to learn how to study and take notes since I never did in highschool. After I learned how to study, tests seemed almost too easy with some exceptions. Academically this school is very good, and I learned more than I thought I would. The downside is that I was unhappy 90% of the time at this university. There is no social life, the surrounding city is very dangerous, and you have to walk at least in a group of 3 or risk getting mugged at gun or knife point. The sad thing is that you'll get more social life taking to people online via MMORPG's, chats, than finding real friends. Yes this is a tech school, and most will be socially inept, a lot also find the classes hard so they will be studying 24/7 with no time to hang, or party. The weather also generally sucks, and a lot of rainy or cloudy days. Winter driving makes commuting a hassle as well.If you go here either find a great frat/sorority or live off campus at least 5 miles away where it is safer to walk outside. |
