Rutgers is very similar to the real world, but a little rosier—people will rarely hold your hand, but if you work hard you can do very well and make great, lasting connections with professors and peers. The school offers zillions of student-led organizations, or you can form your own, as many of my friends did. Being involved in extra-curriculars was almost like a full-time job on top of my 16-19 credit/semester courseloads and part-time job, but I loved it. I truly believe that I could have been happy at many different schools because there are so many colleges and universities out there, and they all have their pluses and minuses. I've never regretted my choice to go to Rutgers and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
