I would say that U-M has really surprised me. I never visited the school before I came. All I did was research. I was never really engaged in sports and activities during my high school years. Michigan has really changed my view on people and my view on higher education in general. I have met many people and I'm involved in several organizations. As long as you come to U-M with an open mind, there are many positive and rewarding experiences that you will go through. U-M academics are challenging. Getting an A is no walk in the park, but if you put in the effort, you can achieve. Being self-motivated is very important to being a successful U-M student. The dorms are nice, the food is average. Being a minority, I can say that some people act differently towards me, but most are welcoming. People can be arrogant and snobby at times, but with so many people U-M, it is important to find your niche. |
