Just to add on to the previous post the average GPA of the incoming freshmen class for 2009 was a 3.4. It will become more and more difficult to get into ODU . Old Dominion in my opinion has excellent academics; all my professors have been extremely helpful and engaging. Once you are in your major classes the work load will pile! The general Ed requirements like most universities will be pretty basic although I was challenged in a few. *(FYI) The night life here at ODU is a great addition even for those students who do not like to partake in drinking ect. My experience here has been a great one! Word of advice - do not come to this school or any university for that matter with the intent to transfer save your time and money and go to community college. There are a lot of people here (and elsewhere) who take pride in this school and nobody wants to hear constant complains because you didn't get into UVA. Have a good time that?s what college is all about and ODU is a college where good times can be had.
