Due to budget brutalizations the lecturers have been cut, the class offerings diminished and your brilliant professors now have class sizes three times larger than what they were. That being said, SFSU has many fabulous opportunities as an undergrad. If you are an actor you will have to take technical theatre which (if you utilize it) can prepare you for real world production jobs. If you are a director/ producer you have opportunities for student productions through the Player's Club, Brown bag workshop course, playthings and self-produced showcases. As a performer you have instructors who can teach you highly stylized classical technique, and method naturalism with viewpoints dovetails. I would have taken seven years to finish class here if I could have. Every class with Mohammad Kowsar, Bill Peters, Barbara Damashek, Yuki Goto, or Brian Thorstenson I didn't take is one that I wish I could have.If you are ready to swim against the tides of a fiscally underappreciated university you can rock the opportunities. |
