They should put a little more effort in making sure that their transfers have a smoothe semester. Before I arrived at UMass, I believed that there would be a great deal of diversity but I was wrong. THis school has 20,000 students and around 70 percent are caucasian. Usually, this isin't a problem but I've noticed that the majority of them all seem to act or even look the same. It's strange. They have some cold students at this school, and this applies to both the weather and the hearts of the students. The academics are pretty good, I don't complain. This place can look quite big when you first visit but once you get the hang of where everything is at, there shouldn't be a problem. Some of the kids here seem a bit close minded if you ask me. This place is also kind of boring but hey, you have to do what you have to do for that degree at the end of your 4 years. New England has some very strange people. I plan on studying abroad for a semester somewhere just to take a break from this place. There are plenty of things to do on campus but half the time it's so cold and snowy up here that people just want to get in and get out. Some of the dorms are really old school so expect to walk up 3 flights of stairs just to relax in your dorm room. |
