Statistical Analyzer:

I have been a student/employee at Hunter since sept. 2004. I know the school VERY well. Administration is horrible, they have too many students (they are taking in many admissions to fill spots and make money but can't really accommodate them). Some faculty are great, but a lot of the new faculty members are adjuncts/grad-students. I have a AAS in Nursing from another college and had contemplated getting my BSN from Hunter. I got into their program which is competitive to get into because it's cheap. They have a severe influx of applicants due to the cheap price of tuition and the nursing craze. Their nursing department is HORRIBLE. I went through a horrible ordeal with them. It took many complaints to finally speak to someone about an issue. Even then, the issue was not resolved the way it should have been. I decided to apply to a private university, with which I am extremely pleased with. The program does not care about its students. Hunter's nursing department has a good reputation, but they are not helpful nor are they considerate about the well-being of their students. If you have questions, you will get the bare-minimum as a response, if any response at all. Also, their advisement is inaccurate. I have gotten the wrong information about curriculum, coursework and expected graduation date. Several other students I've met have said the same, including a friend of mine who is in Hunter's RN-BSN program this semester. She will not be able to graduate the semester she was told she would because the school does not offer , or have enough sections, of the classes she was advised to take (there's a certain course-sequence that has to be followed).
