I graduated from Drew about five years ago, and all of the negative comments that I am reading about it on this website were valid then as well. Pros: The campus is beautiful, the liberal arts courses are interesting, but don't expect more than that. In terms of job placement, Drew is awful. It is on no one's radar at all. The students are a bunch of arrogant pricks and they were totally irresponsible and self-righteous when I attended. Basicall, Drew is a second rate fall back for many students from NJ that could not get into TCNJ, NYU or any of the better colleges in the tri-state region that require 1300 plus on the SAT. Also, the school markets itself as a safe place for students without Greek Life. In all honesty, Greek Life is essential, and I am sorry, not all frats and sororities are bad. Especially, when it comes time to getting a job upon graduation. Drew does not get it, nor do they understand the value of networking. This is obvious in the way the administration acts and runs things in the alumni department as well. I would not recommend going to Drew. It is not worth the money for what you end up getting. If you are attracted to Drew, and schools like it, try looking at schools in the South that are about half the price - places like Randolph Macon, Roanoke, Sweet Briar or Eckerd. They are much much cheaper and just the same in quality. |
