I really appreciated the flexibility in designing my own combination of majors so that I would be challenged and well-rounded. The professors are awesome and people consistently say they're the #1 reason to choose EMU. The dorms were in serious need of upgrades, but I hear they're getting an overhaul now. I found the Mennonites to be very welcoming, though they definitely have their own culture. You do NOT have to be Mennonite to go there, though. Mennonites are very progressive on social issues, but not so much on religious issues, which makes them about equal with other protestant denominations. Mainline Christians fit right in—no horses and buggies! If you get involved and engage in the community, you'll have a good time, like I did, and come out feeling like a much more informed and intelligent person. If you're just looking for a place to party after high school, go somewhere cheaper. |
