Some of the purist elitism went with some of the professors, but I am mostly grateful for my music education. It's the Bible studies that leave a bad taste in my mouth. The student population was almost all cynical and confused, if not viewing the world through a small box. It took years of therapy to unlearn the lessons I learned at PBU. The dispensational approach to the Bible is basically Baptist in its approach, despite the "interdenominational" banner touted by the school. People from reformed theology backgrounds were looked down upon as misguided, to say the least, even though they seemed to have a better sense of the Bible applying to all of life. I learned more what not to do/think than anything. |
