When I came to UT I thought I would be a small fish in a big pond, but I never once felt like that here. I was ALWAYS able to reach out to my professors and advisers for help, and I had every chance for success. There are affordable ways to live in West Campus and walk or take the bus to school. Austin as a city is wonderful, natural beauty and great nightlife. There are also so many great parties for undergrads. I was never involved in the Greek scene and I met SO many great, fun people. Greek life is not a substantial part of the UT culture, and if you can't meet people at UT, you can't meet people anywhere. The campus is so diverse and anyone can find his/her place here. Yes UT is a big football school, but that is a huge part of the fun and the UT culture. Football season is great, but UT is also a great school. Yes, it's hard, and it's supposed to be. I LOVE UT and I would definitely come back if I had to make the decision all over again.Only negative—I wouldn't major in advertising. |
