After all, it is true that they squeeze as much money out of you as possible and there isn't a lot to do when it is -20 degrees. However, many many school try to get money from their students. College is half learning institution and half business and students need to understand that. Personally, I love UVM. The people are really sweet and love inviting you to join them in conversations. Yes, there are a lot of drugs, but if you don't want any there is absolutely no pressure. And there is a lot to do on the weekends, it's just that most students do not take advantage of the many activities offered. This may also be due to the fact that these events are not well advertised, but it is understandably difficult to do so in a school this size. There are a lot of hipees, there is no denying that. But there are just as many regular people. The teachers vary depending on the size and topic of the classes. I'm a Theater Major, and because of that, my classes generally range from 10-25 people. There are many lecture classes, but you choose your own schedule. As I applied to this school, I also applied to many Theater Conservatories. Although I may not be as prepared as those students at Boston Conservatory for example, I love the school so much that I wouldn't trade it for the world. UVM is the place to be yourself and just have fun. You choose your own life there. |
